Reorder & Levels

Configure reorder points, safety stock, and minimum stock levels to automate replenishment planning and maintain optimal inventory levels.

Overview

Reorder levels help you:
  • Set reorder points for automatic replenishment
  • Configure safety stock to buffer against uncertainty
  • Define minimum stock levels to prevent stockouts
  • Support automated replenishment planning

Reorder Point

The reorder point is the inventory level at which a new order should be placed. It’s calculated as: Reorder Point = (Average Daily Demand × Lead Time) + Safety Stock

Setting Reorder Points

  1. Navigate to DecideReorder & Levels
  2. Select a product and location
  3. Set the reorder point based on:
    • Average daily demand
    • Lead time (time to receive new inventory)
    • Safety stock requirements

Safety Stock

Safety stock is extra inventory held to buffer against:
  • Demand variability
  • Lead time variability
  • Supply uncertainty
  • Unexpected demand spikes

Configuring Safety Stock

  1. Navigate to DecideReorder & Levels
  2. Select a product and location
  3. Set safety stock based on:
    • Historical demand variability
    • Lead time variability
    • Service level targets
    • Risk tolerance

Minimum Stock Level

Minimum stock level is the lowest acceptable inventory level before taking action. It’s typically set below the reorder point.

Setting Minimum Stock Levels

  1. Navigate to DecideReorder & Levels
  2. Select a product and location
  3. Set minimum stock level
  4. Configure alerts when minimum is reached

Maximum Stock Level

Maximum stock level is the highest acceptable inventory level to prevent overstocking.

Setting Maximum Stock Levels

  1. Navigate to DecideReorder & Levels
  2. Select a product and location
  3. Set maximum stock level
  4. Configure alerts when maximum is exceeded

Automated Replenishment

When inventory reaches the reorder point:
  1. System generates a replenishment recommendation
  2. Recommendation appears in DecidePlanning Recommendations
  3. You can review and approve the recommendation
  4. Approved recommendations can be converted to purchase orders

Bulk Configuration

Configure reorder levels for multiple products:
  1. Navigate to DecideReorder & Levels
  2. Select multiple products
  3. Use bulk actions to set:
    • Reorder points
    • Safety stock
    • Minimum/maximum levels
