Locations
Locations represent physical or virtual places where inventory is stored or operations occur. Location types are defined by your industry pack.
Location Types
Location types vary by industry pack:
Healthcare Pack
- CENTRAL_STORE: Main storage facility
- WARD: Patient care unit
- OR: Operating room
- PHARMACY: Pharmacy location
- RECEIVING_DOCK: Receiving area
- VACCINE_COLD_ROOM: Cold storage
- QUARANTINE: Quarantine area
Retail Pack
- STORE_FRONT: Customer-facing store
- BACKROOM: Storage behind store
- MFC: Micro-Fulfillment Center
- DC_INBOUND: Distribution center inbound
- DC_STORAGE: Distribution center storage
- DC_OUTBOUND: Distribution center outbound
- RETURNS_DESK: Returns processing
- CMO_NODE: Click-and-collect node
Manufacturing Pack
- COMPONENT_STORE: Component storage
- ASSEMBLY_CELL: Assembly area
- RMA_QUARANTINE: Return material authorization
- FINISHED_GOODS: Finished goods storage
- QC_LAB: Quality control lab
- RAW_STORE: Raw materials storage
- WIP_BUFFER: Work-in-progress buffer

Location Activities
Each location type supports specific activities:

TRANSFER_IN | Receive transfer from another location |
TRANSFER_OUT | Transfer out to another location |
ADJUSTMENT | Make inventory adjustments |
DAMAGE | Record damaged inventory |

Location Hierarchy
Locations can be organized hierarchically:
- Parent-Child Relationships: Locations can have sub-locations
- Location Groups: Group locations for reporting and operations
- Multi-Location Operations: Operations can span multiple locations
Location Configuration
Configure location settings:
- Address: Physical address and contact information
- Operating Hours: Hours of operation
- Capabilities: Supported activities and constraints
- Temperature Class: For cold chain operations (Food & Beverage, Healthcare)
