Inventory by Lot & Expiry

Track inventory by lot number and expiration date for traceability, risk management, and FIFO/FEFO (First In First Out / First Expired First Out) workflows.

Overview

The By Lot & Expiry view helps you:
  • Track lot numbers and batch information
  • Monitor expiration dates and days until expiry
  • Identify expiring stock
  • Manage FIFO/FEFO workflows
  • Support traceability and recalls

Viewing Lot Inventory

  1. Navigate to Sense → By Lot & Expiry
  2. Filter by lot number, expiration date, or product
  3. View lot-specific inventory levels and locations

Lot Tracking

Lot tracking enables:
  • Batch Traceability: Track products by manufacturing batch
  • Expiration Management: Monitor expiration dates
  • Recall Management: Quickly identify affected lots
  • FIFO/FEFO: Support first-in-first-out or first-expired-first-out workflows

Expiration Date Management

View expiration information:
  • Expiration Date: When the product expires
  • Days Until Expiry: Days remaining until expiration
  • Expiry Status: Expired, expiring soon, or good
  • Expiry Risk: Risk level for expiration
Filter lot inventory by:
  • Lot Number: Search by lot number
  • Expiration Date: Filter by expiration date range
  • Days Until Expiry: Filter by days until expiry (e.g., 30, 60, 90 days)
  • Product: Search by product SKU or name
  • Location: Filter by location
  • Status: Expired, expiring soon, or good

Common Workflows

Identifying Expiring Stock

  1. Navigate to Sense → By Lot & Expiry
  2. Filter by “Expiring Soon” (e.g., 30 days)
  3. Review products and lots expiring soon
  4. Take action (FEFO picking, markdowns, etc.)

Lot Traceability

  1. Navigate to Sense → By Lot & Expiry
  2. Search for a specific lot number
  3. View all locations and quantities for that lot
  4. Use for traceability and recall management

FIFO/FEFO Picking

  1. Navigate to Sense → By Lot & Expiry
  2. Filter by product and location
  3. Sort by expiration date (oldest first for FEFO)
  4. Use this information when creating stocklists or picking

Permissions & Roles

Lot and expiry viewing requires inventory.read permission. Lot tracking must be enabled for products to see lot information.
