Inventory Snapshots
Create and view historical inventory snapshots to track inventory levels at specific points in time, compare trends, and support reporting.
Overview
Inventory snapshots capture the state of inventory at a specific moment, allowing you to:
- View historical inventory levels
- Compare inventory over time
- Track inventory trends
- Support audit and reporting requirements
- Analyze inventory changes
Creating Snapshots
- Navigate to Sense → Inventory Snapshots
- Click Create Snapshot
- Enter a name and description (optional)
- Select the date and time for the snapshot
- Click Create
Snapshots can be created:
- Manually: Create on-demand snapshots
- Scheduled: Automatically create snapshots (e.g., month-end, quarter-end)
- Event-based: Create snapshots triggered by events
Viewing Snapshots
- Navigate to Sense → Inventory Snapshots
- Select a snapshot from the list
- View inventory levels at that point in time
Comparing Snapshots
- Navigate to Sense → Inventory Snapshots
- Select two or more snapshots
- Click Compare to see differences
- Review changes in inventory levels
Snapshot Details
Each snapshot includes:
- Date and Time: When the snapshot was taken
- Inventory Levels: Quantity on hand for each product/location
- Location Breakdown: Inventory by location
- Channel Allocation: Inventory allocated to channels
- Lot Information: Lot numbers and expiration dates (if applicable)
Exporting Snapshots
Export snapshot data for reporting:
- Select a snapshot
- Click Export
- Choose format (CSV, Excel, JSON)
- Download the file
Common Workflows
Month-End Inventory
- Navigate to Sense → Inventory Snapshots
- Create a snapshot at month-end
- Name it “Month-End [Month] [Year]”
- Use for financial reporting
Trend Analysis
- Navigate to Sense → Inventory Snapshots
- Select multiple snapshots over time
- Compare to identify trends
- Use insights for planning
Audit Support
- Navigate to Sense → Inventory Snapshots
- Create snapshots at key audit dates
- Export snapshot data for auditors
- Use for compliance reporting
