Dashboards Overview

Dashboards provide real-time visibility into inventory, planning, and operations performance. This guide explains dashboards from a role-oriented perspective.
Don’t Hide Menu Items: All users see the same dashboard menu. This guide explains recommended starting points for each role, but you can access any dashboard you have permissions for.

Executive (Summary Dashboards)

Start here:

Planning Dashboard

The planning dashboard shows:
  • Forecast Accuracy: MAPE, WAPE, bias metrics
  • Planning KPIs: Key planning performance indicators
  • Recommendations: Active planning recommendations
  • Transfer Recommendations: Pending transfer recommendations
  • Forecast vs Actuals: Comparison of forecasts to actual demand

Inventory Dashboard

The inventory dashboard shows:
  • Inventory Levels: Current inventory by location and channel
  • Stock Status: In stock, low stock, out of stock
  • Movement: Recent inventory movements
  • Alerts: Active inventory alerts
  • Valuation: Inventory value and holding costs
Key Metrics:
  • Total inventory value
  • Days of supply

Operations Dashboard

The operations dashboard shows:
  • Shipments: Recent shipments and status
  • Receiving: Recent receiving activity
  • Cycle Counts: Recent cycle counts and variances
  • Adjustments: Recent inventory adjustments
  • Tasks: Pending operational tasks

Finance Dashboard

The finance dashboard shows:
  • Inventory Valuation: Current inventory value

  • COGS: Cost of goods sold metrics

Executive Dashboard

The executive dashboard shows:
  • Overall Health: High-level system health indicators
  • Key Metrics: Top-level KPIs

  • Performance: Overall performance summary

Customizing Dashboards

Adding Widgets

  1. Click Customize Dashboard
  2. Select widgets to display:
    • Metrics: Key performance metrics
    • Charts: Visual representations
    • Tables: Data tables
    • Alerts: Alert summaries
  3. Arrange widgets by dragging
  4. Save your layout

Configuring Widgets

Configure each widget:
  • Time Period: Date range for data
  • Filters: Location, channel, product filters
  • Display Options: Chart type, table format, etc.
  • Refresh Rate: How often to refresh data

Saving Layouts

Save custom dashboard layouts:
  • Personal Layout: Your personal dashboard
  • Shared Layout: Share with team
  • Role Layout: Default for role
  • Organization Layout: Organization-wide default

Common Pitfalls

1. Too Many Widgets

Problem: Adding too many widgets makes dashboard cluttered and hard to use. Solution: Focus on key metrics:
  • Limit to 6-8 widgets per dashboard
  • Group related metrics
  • Use tabs for different views
  • Create multiple focused dashboards

2. Not Customizing for Role

Problem: Using default dashboard instead of customizing for your role. Solution: Customize dashboard for your role:

3. Not Reviewing Regularly

4. Ignoring Alerts

Problem: Dashboard shows alerts but not acting on them. Solution: Act on dashboard alerts:

Troubleshooting

Dashboard Not Loading

Can’t Add Widgets

Symptoms: Unable to add widgets to dashboard. Possible causes:

Permissions & Roles

Viewing dashboards requires standard user permissions. Customizing dashboards may require additional permissions. Some dashboards may be role-specific. Contact your organization administrator for details.
