Industry Packs tailor the Better Data SCM platform for specific verticals, providing contextualized behavior, UI emphasis, default values, and seeded templates.
Available Packs
The platform supports the following standard packs:
- Healthcare: Optimized for hospitals, clinics, and patient care
- Pharma: Tailored for pharmacies, drug distribution, and regulatory compliance
- Medical Device: Focused on UDI tracking, implants, and equipment
- Retail: Designed for physical stores, point-of-sale, and merchandising
- Apparel: Specialized for fashion, size/color variants, and seasonality
- Food & Beverage: Built for expiry management, lot tracking, and perishables
- Manufacturing: Configured for raw materials, WIP, and production kits
- Construction: Optimized for job costing, project tracking, and yard-to-job operations
What Packs Control
Industry Packs affect nearly every aspect of the system configuration:
Product Identifiers
- Healthcare: NDC codes, lot tracking, expiry dates
- Retail: UPC, EAN, SKU variants
- Manufacturing: Part numbers, serial numbers
Location Types
Each pack defines location types specific to that industry:
- Healthcare: CENTRAL_STORE, WARD, OR, PHARMACY
- Retail: STORE_FRONT, BACKROOM, MFC (Micro-Fulfillment)
- Manufacturing: COMPONENT_STORE, ASSEMBLY_CELL, FINISHED_GOODS
Reason Codes
Industry-specific reason codes for adjustments, movements, and dispositions:
- Healthcare: PATIENT_DISPENSE, EXPIRED, RECALL
- Retail: SHRINK, CUSTOMER_RETURN, DAMAGE
- Manufacturing: WO_ISSUE, COMPLETE_BUILD, REWORK
Activity Mappings
Location types are mapped to supported activities:
- CENTRAL_STORE: RECEIVE, PUTAWAY, PICK, PACK, SHIP
- WARD: DISPENSE, CONSUME, TRANSFER_IN/OUT
- STORE_FRONT: SELL, RETURN, TRANSFER_IN/OUT
