Expiring Stock

Identify inventory that is expiring soon or has already expired to take proactive action and minimize waste.

Overview

The Expiring Stock view helps you:

  • View products expiring in the next 30, 60, 90 days
  • See already expired inventory
  • Filter by location and product
  • Export expiring stock reports
  • Take action on expiring items

Expiring Stock Views

Expiring Soon

View products expiring soon:

  • 30 Days: Products expiring in next 30 days
  • 60 Days: Products expiring in next 60 days
  • 90 Days: Products expiring in next 90 days
  • Custom Range: Custom expiration date range

Already Expired

View products that have already expired:

  • Expired Items: Products past expiration date
  • Expired Quantities: Quantities of expired items
  • Expired Locations: Locations with expired inventory

Expiry Information

For each expiring item, view:

  • Product: Product name and SKU
  • Expiration Date: When the product expires
  • Days Until Expiry: Days remaining until expiration
  • Quantity: Quantity expiring
  • Location: Location of expiring inventory
  • Lot Number: Lot number (if applicable)

Filter expiring stock by:

  • Expiration Date Range: Filter by expiration date
  • Days Until Expiry: Filter by days until expiry
  • Product: Search by product SKU or name
  • Location: Filter by location
  • Status: Expired, expiring soon, or good

Actions on Expiring Stock

Take action on expiring items:

  • FEFO Picking: Prioritize expiring items for picking
  • Markdowns: Apply markdowns to move expiring stock
  • Transfers: Transfer to locations with higher demand
  • Disposal: Dispose of expired inventory

Common Workflows

Daily Expiry Review

  1. Navigate to Sense → Expiring Stock
  2. Review items expiring in next 30 days
  3. Check already expired items
  4. Take action on high-priority items

Expiry Prevention

  1. Navigate to Sense → Expiring Stock
  2. Review items expiring in next 60-90 days
  3. Plan markdowns or transfers
  4. Adjust ordering to prevent future expiry

Expiry Reporting

  1. Navigate to Sense → Expiring Stock
  2. Apply filters for your report
  3. Export the report
  4. Share with relevant stakeholders

Permissions & Roles

Expiring Stock viewing requires inventory.read permission. Expiry tracking must be enabled for products to see expiration information.
